Show Description/Introduction: This series is an early 20th century period drama that follows the lives of the wealthy, aristrocratic Crawley family and their servants, who live in the fictional country estate of Downton Abbey in Yorkshire, England. Since we are watching the pilot, you don't need much background, but to set the stage, I'd note that the story opens in April 1912. The show isn't particularly fast paced, so just be ready for a slower journey.
